• In the year 1874 Carl Wilhelm Becker opened his first factory, producing paints and varnishes. Five workers were employed, and Becker's became the first company in Sweden to combine production, retail, and wholesale within the same area.
• In 1929 Beckers AB bought M Hansen and Fernis AB Ferbo, ushering in a series of mergers that were to create the Becker Group of Companies.
• In 1961 Becker's for the first time purchased a company outside the borders of Sweden. This expansion became prevalent during the 1970's
• In 2000 AB Wilh. Becker sold its consumer and professional paint business, Alcro-Beckers AB, to Kemira Oy. Tikkurila Oy, being a part of Kemira Oy, is Finland's largest producer of consumer paints.
• In 2004 ColArt is once again fully owned by AB Wilh. Becker.
• In 2008 AB Wilh. Becker sold its Powder coatings operations in Europe to Inver S.p.A., the Italian company specialised in industrial liquid and powder coatings. Inver is acquiring Becker Powder Coatings four European production plants located in France, UK, Poland and Italy.
• Today, after more than 140 years in the market, AB Wilh. Becker is a leading and modern industrial group with the entire world for its market. |
