Chinese Pavilion

Beckers is proud to have helped and contributed the rich red appearance of this unique building. It took months of hard work for the Becker Industrial Coatings Shanghai coil team, in close cooperation with coil coaters and design teams of the Crown of the East, to arrive at this exciting, long-lasting and harmonious red appearance. This marks a truly historic moment for Beckers, its products, and all the team

The main structure of the China Pavilion, "The Crown of the East," has a distinctive roof, featuring traditional dougong construction, which dates back more than 2,000 years. The dougong style features wooden brackets fixed layer upon layer between the top of a column and a crossbeam. This unique structural component of interlocking wooden brackets is one of the most important elements in traditional Chinese architecture. Dougong was widely used in the Spring and Autumn Period (770 BC-467 BC).
There are many fantastic details throughout the buildings as it embraces typical Chinese philosophy, architecture wisdom, and the efforts for future discovery and development. Here, we would like to highlight the facade. It is very unusual to see such a powerful Red structure even on a worldwide scale. It’s the China Red of the Crown of the East that makes it so striking, superb and spontaneously linked to the long history of the nation.
